c o n v e r g e!
Okay people, I'm kinda late. Haha. But anyway, happy reading! There are so many convergence gadgets around us, mobile phones to watches. I believe every one of us would possess at least one convergence gadget. In my primary school days (which is about 8 to 10 years ago), I remembered that I was really amazed by this calculator watch one of my friends have. Okay, by its name, you can tell that it’s a digital watch which has a small number pad, and allows you to do simple addition and subtraction (and maybe multiplication and division. Haha.). But now, convergence gadgets are so common. We have integrated cameras in our mobile phones and the megapixels just keep increasing, from VGA to about 5mp. And of course, the price increases too. Also, we have mp3 players in our mobile phones which can be rather annoying because you would hear teens blasting the ‘umbrella…ella…ella’ song on their phones and the worst thing is, the song quality isn’t good.
There’s also iPod! Mp3 player which can view photos. But seriously, no matter how good the colour resolution is, why do you want to view photos on such small screens. Haha. And you have to take the trouble to transfer pictures into the iPod. There are so many other ways to show those beautiful pictures of yourself to your friends, either email them or carry your digital camera along (with the advanced technology, how heavy can a digital camera be. Hah.)
And the every guy’s must-have, Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP)! It could play movie, songs, and games and has Wi-Fi! 4-in-1! Maybe they could come out with a new version with integrated camera! Well, at least the PSP has a bigger and better resolution screen than Mp3 players. Haha.
Back to mobile phones, how many functions in your phones do you actually use? My phone (Samsung E730, mp3 phone) doesn’t have really great functions. It has mp3 player, only 1.3 mp camera (it lags), bluetooth, GPRS and other common features. For me, the GPRS and the Mp3 player function are the least commonly used. Like I said earlier, the sound quality isn’t good. And the earphones make it worst. It has poor reception for the FM radio. As for the GPRS, it takes so long to load and expensive to use. Probably, the best function is the camera. But, it sometimes annoys me that the camera is only 1.3mp. I have so many complain for the phone. Haha. I guess it’s not the phone it’s me. I am just not satisfied. Yup, and because we people have so many complains and cannot be easily satisfied, it resulted in convergence! Convergence gadgets pop up everyday!
Finally, I finished! Heh.
