What would we do without them?
Hehe... I'm super late. I just keep forgetting to blog. Guess it's because I'm really not into blogging already. But enough of excuses, let's get down to convergence...With the technological advancements of today, it is inevitable that several of such technologies have converged. The invention of lithium batteries, mobile phones started to carry more and more functions while shrinking in size. With digital cable, couch potatoes no longer just channel surf. They can even play games on their televisions while still remaining comfy on their couches. On the topic of games, there are also the PSP, Nintendo Wii, X-Box and so many more game consoles that have been borne out of the converging technologies.
We have come to depend on these gadgets so much that without them, we will feel lost and helpless. The people of today have the scientists who constantly improve on these technologies to thank for their everyday electronic necessities. Without them, we would not have our multi-purpose mobile phones that we wake up to, and sleep with.
Our mobile phones are a great example of the very successful converging technologies. Not only do they allow us to reach out to people over long distances and timezones, they also have several other applications that make them indispensable now. To capture happy memories, we use the camera function; to remind us of important dates and appointments, we have the calendar function; to entertain us in times of boredom, we can listen to the radio or stored music on our phones; and now, we can even do what I am doing, blogging, on our phones!
The mobile phone has been so integrated into our lives now that we would never leave our homes without it.
Do you think that there would be a day where the mobile phone would be integrated into our bodies?
