What I've learnt in NCT

Haha.. Okay. I am VERY late! Probably no one is going to read this but still… here I come!

I just need to get this over and done. I agreed with Joannah that NCT is not my cup of tea. That’s why I am so slow in posting. =X

Technologies are advancing so rapidly that I find it difficult to catch up with it. There are always new technologies popping out every other day to replace the old ones for the sake of mankind – convenient. While we are embracing these technologies, we have also accepted the negative connotations unconsciously.

Global Positioning System (GPS) was first invented for military purpose in the U.S. but soon in the 1980s, it was widely used by civilians. You can now purchase GPS handsets easily from retail stores and some products even have integrated GPS device. I guess one of the most famous integrated GPS products would be Nokia N95. It has a GPS mapping for you to track your location and navigate around to where ever you want to go. You are able to use the device 24/7, no matter rainy or sunny as long as you are exposed to the GPS satellites.

It is a rather useful device especially when you are lost on the road or on any part of the small red dot. However, has anyone wondered the ‘danger’ of GPS device? Yes! You can be track down! Unscrupulous people can find you by all means without you realising it. Take a look at this GPS device (http://www.streetdirectory.com/gps/covert_gps.php). Marketers advertised this GPS device as the smallest tracking device for you to track your loved ones. Isn’t this ridiculous? Is this the original purpose of GPS?

Have this device become a help or threat to us and the society? From NCT lessons, I have learnt that we are so used to the convenience of technologies that sometimes we compromised security.
